The other week, I went with Lisa for a tattoo consultation with the talented and much sought-after Marie Wadman at Diving Swallow in Downtown Oakland. The studio is super rad and they had this super rad screen separating the client lounge and office area:
Anyhow, it'd been a while since we hung out in Oakland, and even longer that we were there in the morning, early enough to beat the brunch crowd. This convergence required a stop at my absolute favorite breakfast place, Mama's Royal Cafe. I indulged with their Croque Monsieur. The trick with this place is avoiding the brunch crowd. If you can do that, then you can believe the hype.
